A quanto pare le dimensioni della seconda borsa in cabina variano più del previsto, le dimensioni accettate da Ryanair non vanno bene, ad esempio, a Lufthansa: secondo le mie ultime ricerche le dimensioni accettabili, per chi accetta un secondo bagaglio in cabina, sono 33 x 20 x 10 cm.
Una volta era Ryanair il terribile mostro, l'arci nemico dei viaggiatori zaino in spalla, temo che ora abbia agguerriti avversari.
Ma quanto è micro la micro borsa accettata, sembra, universalmente? Ho provato a cucirne una, ovviamente reversibile.
Aparently, measurments for the second on board luggage vary more than I expected, the bag accepted by Ryanair is not allowed, for instance, on Lufthansa: according to my new research the measurements acceptable for the second on board luggage, when accepted, are 33 x 20 x 10 cm. Once upon a time Ryanair was the archenemy of back pack travellers, it seems there is now a competition for that role. But how tiny is the tiny bag accepted, apparently, everywhere? I have tried and sewn one. Reversible, of course.
Era tanto che volevo usare questi ritagli! Ed era tanto che volevo provare a creare un lato 'serio' - in questo caso il lato di jeans - e un lato 'fantasia' - a tema viaggi, visto lo scopo specifico di questa borsa. Ci è voluto un po' per trovare un buon modo per sistemare le stoffe e assortire colori e fantasie, ma sono molto soddisfatta del risultato.
I wanted to use these scraps for sooo long! And, for so long, I wanted to make a 'serious' face - the jeans one, here - and a 'fancy' side - traveled theme, to match the purpose of this bag. It took a bit to find a nice way to arrange the fabric, taking in consideration colors and prints, but I am quite happy with the result.
La borsa serve anche da test per gli elementi in plastica per la tracolla: gli accessori in metallo sono considerati più eleganti, ma preferisco quelli in plastica, perché più leggeri e perché non amo il ticchettio degli elementi in metallo.
The bag is also a test for the plastic items for the strap: metal accessories are considered more elegant, but I like the plastic ones better, they are lighter and they don't go 'clink' all the time.
E così, quanto è piccola la micro borsa? Non così piccola: una bottiglietta d'acqua, un libro, un golfino, portafogli e cellulare li tiene tranquillamente. Ottima per un uso giornaliero, senza appesantirsi troppo.
La borsa autorizzata da Ryanair è 'spessa' il doppio, quindi ha il doppio del volume, può essere usata come micro valigia per un weekend in giro, ma come borsa per ogni giorno è troppo grande, però non abbastanza ampia da contenere una cartella di documenti. Anche in viaggio, come seconda borsa, è un po' scomoda, proprio perché così grande rende difficile spostarsi con le due borse. Diciamo che la borsa 'Ryanair' è comoda per massimizzare lo spazio a disposizione sull'aereo e per qualche distrazione, come una sauna a Berlino: la borsa può contenere un paio di asciugamani, saponi e spazzole, oltre alla combinazione standard di cellulare, portafoglio e appunti di viaggio.
Immagino che dovrò fare un altro viaggetto per vedere se è più comoda la combinazione valigiona e borsa o valigiona e micro borsa.
And so, how tiny is the tiny bag? Not that much: you can carry in it a little bottle of water, a book, a little sweater, purse and mobile. Great for everyday use, if you like to go light.
The second bag for Ryanair is twice as large, so the volume is doubled, it can be used as a weekender bag, but for everyday use it is too large, but not big enough to carry a documents folder. As a second bag during a trip it is a bit too big and it gets in the way when you have another, even bigger, bag to carry. Let say that the 'Ryanair' bag is good to maximize space and to have a bit of a road trip, like going to a sauna in Berlin: it can carry a couple of towels, soaps, brushes plus the usual combination of purse, mobile and papers.
I suppose I will have to make another little trip to see what works better: suitcase and bag or suitcase and tiny bag.
